Postpartum Doula Services
You deserve support after baby arrives.
Recovery, newborn care, feeding support, overnight care, and compassionate guidance for the fourth trimester.
The Fourth Trimester Matters…
…And a postpartum doula can help!
Not sure what a postpartum doula is?
A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides non-medical, in-home support to families during the “fourth trimester”, which refers to the weeks following the birth of the baby. The doula “mothers the mother” by offering emotional support, education and guidance around newborn behaviors and needs, assisting with infant care such as feeding and bathing, and helps to overall foster a smooth transition for the whole family.
How We Help
You can count on your postpartum doula to provide:

What People Are Saying

Absolutely 100% recommend the Growing Place for doula services. Ginny and Regina met with us to plan out our birth experience. Hiring a doula was one of the best decisions we made to help with the birth of our first baby. We had SUCH a wonderful experience with Regina during the delivery of our baby girl. Her demeanor, personality and attentiveness made our birth experience so positive. We were so lucky to have her by our side as first time parents. Thank you to the Growing Place!

Where do I even begin…just don’t even question, hire any doula at The Growing Place!!! First time mom and this was (and continues to be) the support we needed through pregnancy and now postpartum. We took the yoga birth, breastfeeding and postpartum class so we got to meet other amazing doulas as well! All worth every investment. We worked with Gini & Jess through our birth doula experience and they were beyond incredible. Words can’t express our gratitude for helping us along the way. We’re now in postpartum and have worked with Jess and Krystle on assistance as needed as we transition to parenthood. Again, highly highly recommend wherever you are in your journey, these women are angels so don’t hesitate and reach out to them!

Since having my daughter, I have sent The Growing Place info to at least 3 other expecting mamas because I was just blown away with the care we received. Krystle was my rock during the hardest parts of my labor and Tiffany helped bring my daughter into this world and got to meet her again during our post parting visit. If we are blessed with any future pregnancies, I won’t hesitate to work with the Growing Place again!

This place is amazing. My husband and I have signed up for a doula and currently taking pre-birth classes. The Growing Place is well organized and is very good at guiding us to feel comfortable for our birth. We have not yet received doula services but with all of the interactions, we are confident they will be excellent as well! I am glad we have this center in our area!

Postpartum doulas are not nannies, we are so much more! We assist you in adjusting to life with a newborn, but we don’t completely take over care for the baby. We support you in caring for your infant and want you to feel more confident in your role as a parent when we leave. We usually work with clients though the first four months, for anywhere from one to six weeks until you feel like you are adjusted and healed from birth.

Daytime care focuses more on establishing good daytime routines, support mom in recovery, providing education and assistance with the baby.
Overnight care focuses primarily on making sure you get to sleep! To that end, the doula will put baby to sleep, assists with bringing the baby to mom to nurse, or can give the baby a bottle while you get a good night’s rest.

We welcome the opportunity to support families of all backgrounds, faiths, and family dynamics.
-
We do not care for the infant int he absence of parents of their primary caregiver.

Daytime rates start at $33.00 per hour, and overnight rates start at $43.00 per hour. Weekend and holiday visits are available, if needed, for an additional charge.

Our calendars fill up quickly, so we encourage families to reserve their spots typically during the 2nd trimester or as soon as possible.
